Independent, Atlanta based company, and industry newcomer CATMEDIA Entertainment casts
Pretty Little Liars actress Nia Peeples in the company’s first feature film,
Mnemosyne.
CEO and Founder of CATMEDIA,
Mnemosyne executive producer, and 2017 Georgia Small Business Owner of the Year, Catherine Downey sought to cast an experienced actress who could portray a female powerhouse on screen. The company strategically cast Peeples to create buzz around its first feature film and attract a wider fan base familiar with a well-known actress.
After corresponding with numerous casting agents,
Mnemosyne director William Warren decided Peeples was perfect for one of the film’s most dynamic roles, Claudia. Sharp, sleek, and dangerous, this character controls a major pharmaceutical company and directly oversees its more covert endeavors.
When asked about her experience working on CATMEDIA Entertainment’s first film Peeples said, “After 30 years of primetime TV and films running the gamut in terms of budget, name value, and quality, it’s always refreshing to step into a company of filmmakers who are fresh and imaginative, and inspired rather than jilted. The experience of enthusiasm and “dream making” can be intoxicating. It reminds me of my beginnings.”
In
Mnemosyne, the charismatic Pastor leads his devoted followers to believe they are the sole survivors in a post apocalyptic world. When his own daughter falls ill, questions begin to spread among some of his closest followers.
“I really enjoyed working with Nia. She’s just a professional and really brought a lot to the film. She totally understood her character, what we were trying to achieve, and was wonderful to work with,” said executive producer Catherine Downey.
Actively involved in the entertainment industry since 1981, Peeples is also widely known for her appearances in
Walker Texas Ranger,
The Young and the Restless, and
FAME. In recent years, she has graced the screen as Pam Fields in the mystery television series
Pretty Little Liars. However, Nia’s list of achievements doesn’t stop there. She is also a successful Billboard recording artist and singer, mother of two children, founder of her own line of beauty products, and philanthropist.
CATMEDIA could not be more thrilled about Nia’s involvement in the film.
